About Course
This three-month subscription will give you pre-planned workouts for you to follow and duplicate. The skills for each day are designed to complement each other from month to month and season to season.
These workouts best fit the high school and college-aged catchers/coaches, but there has been increasing success running 7th-8th graders through the training format.
Materials:
Throwing, receiving, blocking drills (and pop-ups):
-A pitching machine or any arm that could provide throws ranging from 60-90 mph (pending the catcher’s age)
-29″ Allstar Training mitt (this is a bonus if you have available)
-Weighted balls (18-25 oz) Quantity: 2-4
Arm-care/strength:
-Jaegar Bands, weighted balls, 2-5 lb dumbells.
Mobility/Agility training:
-Jump Rope/agility ladders (rings), cones
Instructions:
To ensure the practice sessions run with pace and good tempo, we strongly suggest rehearsing the practice session the night before your workout and using the printout to avoid a choppy or long practice session.
Each session is designed to last 35-45 min. when the pace is sharp and reps are maximized. Try to spend approximately 5-8 minutes on each drill, but vary the time as you like.
Some catchers have had even greater success running through a portion of a drill with video to check their technique…some will opt to email us a 30 sec. clip of 3-4 reps for video analysis…
