Focus:
Pace and control. This helps catchers get a grasp on having a good internal clock and matching it with their body control. Catchers who struggle with running at less than max-effort or who struggle with their accuracy will benefit from this. Start by setting a target time about .30 seconds above their best times. Then work down from there and finish by having them beat their best times.
Not every base stealer gets a phenomenal jump and catchers do not always need to throw a 1.92 second throw to get the runner out. We just need to have the ball beat the runner there and in most cases a 2.10-2.17 will work with accuracy (for the varsity level).
